Pre-Entry Orientation Program
The purpose of Pre-Entry in the application process is to allow the DePaul Center staff sufficient opportunity to evaluate the applicant. Likewise, the men are given an opportunity to learn more about the DePaul Center, and more importantly, about themselves.
Pre-Entry includes academic and skills assessments, personal interviews, written homework assignments, and seminars on self awareness, personal growth and change.
A drug screening and an appointment with Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority are also arranged.
Early in the third week, approved applicants are officially accepted into the program as a student, assigned a private residence room and a Case Manager with whom they will meet on a regular basis. The students will then enroll in a formal education program, find employment, and begin to work toward their goals.
